A UNIQUE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY

A UNIQUE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY

PROPOSED VANCOUVER ISLAND MOTORSPORT PARK AT THE CAMPBELL RIVER AIRPORT.

Why a Motorsports Facility? Vancouver Island lacks any permanent racing facility for drag racing, the world’s most participated in form of racing (and the average street car can compete).  Annual events can bring millions of dollars to the local economy. The Island has a large contingent of racers with only temporary facilities (Alberni & Port McNeill). Although the main use would be drag racing, this area would open for other needs ( similar venues accommodate a wide variety of recreational and other activities, including: road racing, motocross, bicycle racing, police training, professional driving schools, and club events for car enthusiasts.

The island needs this .Our city council in port alberni recognises how much money the one weekend brings into the city. That is why when we were told we couldn’t use the airport this year they did everything they could to keep the race going and that is why we have the street race this year. If this is built the economic impact will be huge for the whole island. Thanks for your efforts to get this going

Yes, we’re hoping to have representation from all types of vehicles… and I’m sure we will.
      Thanks for the question, Jim

Behind you 200% and I am doing everything I can to not only spread the word but get people signed up. We have a car show or two coming up and i have printed a bunch of your membership apps. to pass out. I also think you should rent a facility Mid Island and have an open meeting just to see exactly how many people really are interested.

Hi Larry, Thanks for your support and your help recruiting members. We will be attending car shows and race events with the goal of communicating with race fans and racers. When they understand that we are committed to creating a “permanent” drag racing facility (with other motorsports activities possible as well), we’re confident that our membership will grow. The governments that we are lobbying need to see that there is support and a demand for this type of facility on the Island. We are considering a meeting like you have suggested and will make sure it is well publicized. Thanks again.
